How difficult is the Tijuca Peak hike?

The hike is moderately demanding, with sustained uphill sections, uneven forest terrain and a final staircase leading toward the summit. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

How long does the hike take?

The total experience generally takes approximately five hours, including access to the trail, the ascent, time at the summit and the return. Timing varies according to pace and conditions.

Is the rock staircase difficult to climb?

The staircase is steep but equipped to provide a defined route toward the summit. Your guide will set an appropriate pace and assist where necessary.

Can children participate?

Active children with previous hiking experience may participate, depending on their age, fitness and comfort on steep terrain. Their details should be provided before booking.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?

The route may be adapted, postponed or rescheduled if rain, poor visibility or trail conditions affect safety or summit access.
